When should customers choose Plate Flattening Machine instead of Plate Straightening Machine?

Customers select Plate Flattening Machine rather than Plate Straightening Machine mainly based on material thickness, flatness requirement, production speed and processing raw materials. Plate Flattening equipment features dense small-diameter leveling rollers to eliminate tiny residual stress, while Plate Straightening Machine uses fewer large rollers focused on correcting severe bending and camber of thick steel.

For thin sheets from 0.3 mm to 3.0 mm including PPGI, galvanized steel and stainless steel, Plate Flattening Machine is the preferred option. It removes subtle edge waves, middle waves and local indentation to achieve high-precision flatness for home appliance panels, decorative metal sheets and precision stamping blanks. If finished plates need strict tolerance for subsequent laser cutting and fine stamping, flattening equipment is indispensable.

When production runs at high continuous speed matched with automatic cut-to-length line for mass thin-coil blanking, flattening machine with dense roller layout keeps stable sheet flatness at fast feeding speed. In contrast, thick hot rolled steel above 6mm with obvious arch bending uses straightening machine for rough correction.

Customers also pick flattening machine for post-processing of pre-cut small-size scattered plates and leftover sheet blanks. Straightener cannot fix micro deformation of thin materials effectively and easily causes sheet over-bending or surface bruising. Only for thick heavy plates with large bending distortion, plate straightening machine takes priority.
