As the indispensable front-end core equipment of complete metal roofing sheet roll forming production lines, the roofing sheet decoiler, also named metal coil uncoiler, undertakes coil fixing, steady unwinding and uniform raw material feeding for subsequent roll forming, leveling and cutting procedures, which directly decides the continuity and finished product quality of corrugated sheets, glazed roof tiles and standing seam roof panels in construction industry. This equipment is specially customized to match diversified raw coils widely used in roof manufacturing, including pre-painted galvanized steel (PPGI), hot-dipped galvanized steel (GI), aluminum alloy and galvalume steel coils ranging from 0.3mm to 2.0mm in sheet thickness.

Structurally, standard roofing sheet decoiler mainly consists of heavy-duty welded steel frame, expandable central mandrel, drive power assembly, tension control module and photoelectric synchronous sensing system, classified into three mainstream configurations: manual expansion type, electric motor-driven type and full hydraulic automatic expansion type according to coil load and automation level. The expandable mandrel, the core holding component, flexibly adjusts outer diameter to lock coil inner hole between 450mm and 630mm, effectively avoiding coil displacement or loose shedding during high-speed unwinding; hydraulic expansion models adopt built-in hydraulic cylinder to finish automatic clamping without manual pry adjustment, largely cutting coil replacement time for large-tonnage raw materials. Conventional load specifications cover 3-ton, 5-ton, 8-ton and 10-ton, among which 5-ton electric decoiler becomes the most popular option for medium-scale roof panel factories due to balanced cost and operating efficiency.

Its working logic follows mature industrial operation flow. After workers lift raw steel coil onto decoiler mandrel via forklift or small crane, operators expand mandrel to fasten coil inner wall firmly first; once the downstream roll forming machine starts running, linked photoelectric sensor transmits real-time speed signal to the decoiler’s variable frequency drive (VFD) system, synchronizing unwinding pace with forming speed automatically. Built-in tension brake system keeps constant strip tightness all through unwinding, eliminating common production defects like sheet wrinkling, edge warping, surface scratch and irregular feeding deviation caused by uneven coil release, greatly lowering finished product rejection rate of roof sheets. For automatic production lines, optional coil loading trolley can realize unmanned coil switchover, further lifting continuous production capacity of whole workshop.

In practical industrial application, prominent advantages make roofing sheet decoiler irreplaceable in modern roof material processing.
