Can one set roll forming machine produce two kinds of steel profiles?

A single roll forming machine can manufacture two different steel profiles through two mainstream technical solutions:quick interchangeable roller sets and adjustable multi-size design,while ordinary fixed-roller roll formers cannot switch profiles directly without modification.

For adjustable automatic roll forming equipment represented by C/Z purlin and solar channel machines,the spacing of roller groups,side stoppers and cutting molds can be adjusted via PLC control and handwheel fine-tuning.Operators only modify preset parameter data on the touch screen to switch between two similar specification profiles such as 41×41mm and 41×21mm solar strut or different sizes of C purlin within several minutes,no need to disassemble entire forming rollers.This design is widely used for products with similar cross-section shape but different width or height.

If the two target profiles own totally different cross-sectional structures,manufacturers adopt split replaceable roller stands.Users demount the original roller modules and install another set of spare forming rollers to realize production switching.However,profile replacement takes several hours and needs professional debugging to guarantee dimensional accuracy.

Standard fixed roller roll forming lines with non-adjustable frame are customized for one single profile only.Changing into another product requires complete roller refitting and equipment calibration,which is uneconomical for frequent small-batch switching.Customers with frequent orders of two profiles are recommended to choose adjustable type to save factory floor space and equipment investment.
