Why does hydraulic decoiler stop running suddenly?

Sudden shutdown of hydraulic decoiler mostly results from electrical faults,hydraulic failure and abnormal coil follow-up signal,which are the three most frequent troubleshooting causes for roll-forming and stamping production lines.

First,electrical control issues top the failure list.Overload protection of main drive inverter or thermal relay will cut off power automatically once the spindle bears excessive coil resistance;loose wiring of limit switch,infrared follow-up sensor or emergency stop button also triggers immediate machine halt.Voltage fluctuation and three-phase power shortage will cause the main motor or hydraulic pump motor to stop for self-protection.

Second,hydraulic system malfunction leads to unexpected shutdown.Severe hydraulic oil leakage,insufficient tank oil level or clogged oil filter reduces system working pressure,failing to maintain coil expansion and driving load;damaged hydraulic solenoid valve cannot switch oil circuit normally and locks spindle rotation.Overheat of hydraulic pump also activates thermal protection to stop equipment.

Third,abnormal sheet tension and follow-up signal feedback.When the steel strip is stuck,wrinkled or tightly wound,the follow-up ultrasonic/infrared sensor sends stop signal to PLC to avoid tearing raw material;misplaced coil offset and stuck coil edge also force the decoiler to pause automatically.

Daily regular inspection on electric circuit,hydraulic oil status and sensing components can effectively reduce unexpected sudden stops.
